One of today’s top priorities in the eyes of the American government is financial assistance for single mothers. As we all are facing horrific financial difficulties while trying to overcome the current recession, it’s our children whom we must first look after hence making the single mother a priority. The burden of raising a family alone can be staggering to the mother of fatherless children, or single parented heads of household. In efforts to ease the potential suffering of America’s youth we must begin the financial aid distribution with single mothers. In this article I will attempt to guide the single mothers in the most desperate of situations to the financial aid that is available to them.

Programs like TANF (temporary assistance to needy families) are a good place to start. This is a program that provides on the spot, immediate financial assistance for single mothers experiencing financial difficulties and are in crucial need of assistance. TANF provides food, clothing, cash, medical assistance, day care services, and job search assistance and schooling. In many cases you can apply at a local agency and have some type of cash or food stamp vouchers in hand before even leaving the office.

There are little requirements other than proof of age, identification, proof of parenthood and address. If you are homeless, you can be provided with shelter as well. If you and your family are in need of help in the most urgent sense, you can visit your local department of human services public aid office and they will most certainly provide you with immediate assistance for single mothers. There is an office in every town or city and are required to review and consider all applications. It’s quite impossible to be turned down if you can prove legitimate need.

There are also a large number of other agencies that provide assistance for single mothers in need. There is a fantastic program called CEDA that distributes energy credits to the utility bill accounts of those who apply and qualify. Twice a year you may apply and if you’re eligible, a substantial amount of money will be paid on your behalf towards your utility bills. The Salvation Army is also there to help. They have a more personal approach to things, but they offer a wide variety of personalized services to aid single mothers, and other individuals in need.

If you, or someone you know is a single mother in need of help, there is a large amount of immediate assistance for single mothers, and agencies that are willing to give it to you. You don’t have to struggle alone.

If you are a single mother you are in a front line position with the government to receive financial assistance. Help for single moms is the US governments favorite and most commonly awarded type of free financial aid to the population of it’s citizens. The government realizes that the citizens who most urgently need their financial assistance are those who are raising children. Particularly those raising children alone in a single parent household. The national census bureau has reported that a majority of American single parented families are lead by a female head of household. Hence the currently increasing amount of government provided help for single moms.

There are several state, government, federal, and privately run organizations that award grants and scholarships to single mothers on a yearly, biannually, and sometimes even quarterly basis. This is virtually free money to be used for whatever specific purpose for which it was applied. There are more requirements other than being an American citizen over the age of eighteen and a single mother, but you may be eligible to receive federal financial aid. In some states, if you are under eighteen and have children you can become emancipated and qualify for these types of government assistance as well. You’ll want to check the specific laws for your state on that, but in some way shape or form, the government provides considerable amounts of help for single moms regardless of their age. You as a single mom and tax paying American citizen should be entitled to this help.

If you are a single mother interested in taking advantage of the great grant and scholarships programs that are offered by government, state, federal or private organizations, do an online search for the local agencies in your area. There are many guidance counselors at these facilities who are there to help guide you through the application process and find the types of opportunities that will best benefit you and your family.

If you’re situation is one of a more dire nature and is in need of immediate attention, there is also an overly abundant amount of help for single moms in desperate situations. If you visit your local department of human services facility they can immediately provide you with food and shelter for your family, and/or cash assistance, assistance with paying utility bills, medical assistance and child care.

The government understands that America’s children and the mothers who care for them are a priority. Help for single moms is available immediately, take advantage.

As many articles as I have researched on the topic of government grants, help for single mothers is one subject that I can elaborate on from first hand experience without having to go fact finding first. Being a single mother myself and having experienced many serious financial set backs over the course of my child raising years, I have in the past had to rely on the government for financial assistance. In some of the hardest times, I’d have never made it through. I’d like to share with you my true life experiences in hopes that any single parents who are struggling to survive may get some use out of what I’ve learned.

When my relationship was suddenly torn apart, I was left not only emotionally devastated, but financially exhausted with two children to support, on my own. I was completely unprepared to take on this unexpected challenge, particularly in the fragile emotional state I was in. Not to mention my lack of finances and ability to work full time with two young children at home. One of them an infant. I’ll spare you the gory details, but I will tell you that this was a completely unexpected break up and I was left virtually high and dry with no more than $200 in my checking account, a broken down car, a one year old, a ten year old, and a pile of past due utility bills.

To make matters worse, I was only working part time and had no one else there to care for my children so I could work a measly twelve hours a week. I was emotionally and financially unstable and feared we’d soon be on way to public housing and the welfare line. Thanks to the help for single mothers provided by the government, none of these things ever happened to my family.

I actually did go to my local department of human services seeking help. I thought I’d have to quit my job to watch the kids and needed to apply for food stamps and such as a safety net until I found another job. What I found out when I spoke with the caseworker was incredible and immediately put me on the right track to getting swiftly back on my feet. There is a huge amount of help for single mothers available to prevent these unfortunate instances from happening. I received temporary food stamp assistance immediately which enabled me to hold on to what little cash I had while fully stocking the pantry. I was also given full medical coverage on the spot that covered both of my children and myself with no co payment or prescription fees.

Ten years later, I still hold this medical card for my son and myself at absolutely no cost to me. The greatest part was that I was able to keep my job because they even paid for day care for my infant son, and an after school program for my ten year old daughter. At the fully accredited institutions of my choice no less. I was actually not only able to keep my job, I was able to work more, pay less for childcare and pursue a real career. When my son was ready for first grade I was even able to send him to private school and received grants for single parents to finance more than half of the tuition.

This is my true story. If I can do it, anyone can. If you are struggling, look to your local department of human services and they can direct you to many fabulous programs that provide a very generous amount of help for single mothers to get on their feet and run!

We hear so much these days about grants for single parents, which is fantastic. Who needs the help more than single parents struggling to keep up with the challenges of raising children alone? Not many that I can think of. These are fantastic free government money programs that can help with a number of dilemmas that the single parented families can face these days of hard times and poor economy. We’ve heard a lot of talk about them recently on the news with “help at home”, and all the infomercials on late night TV plugging these funds.

But what is commonly overlooked is that fathers are also single parents sometimes and can also qualify for all the same grants for single parents as mothers do.

Being the male parent does not at all disqualify the single dad from applying for and also qualifying for, and receiving the same types of government funded assistance that female parents do. It should be strongly noted that when listening to these discussions, or viewing the television programs, or reading articles like this, about grants for single “mothers”, that this actually means single parents.

The terminology currently used for the subject is completely politically incorrect. Men who are raising children on their own may be eligible to receive exactly the same type of government financial assistance and grants for single parents as women who are raising children alone do. In these times of long found equal rights, and emphasis on always having to be politically correct, it’s amazing to me that when addressing the topic, the terminology used in describing these fantastic financial assistance programs is so grossly and deceptively misused. Is this government’s way of shortchanging the public by suggesting that these funds are only available to single parents of the female persuasion? Or are they just ignorant to the fact that America has an overwhelming amount of fathers who are also single handedly raising their families?

In either case, I’m sure some father’s rights activists will handle that part of the issue. In the mean time, let it be known that grants for single parents are not only available to the mothers. Dads need help too sometimes and if you’re a parent, you may be entitled to it.

Being a parent is the most rewarding experience most of us could ever hope to achieve. If you are single and raising children, grants for single parents can make it even more rewarding.

Are you, or do you know any single parents? If you’ve answered yes, then you have seen first hand how difficult it can be for the single parent to balance their own schedules, jobs, careers and households in addition to the educational and recreational schedules and expenses of their children. Even though the love shared in a family is well worth the constant efforts, it’s still not an easy task by any means. What all single parents should know is that there is an enormous amount of free government money in grants for single parents that can help. Whether you are a single parent struggling just to get by and need financial assistance to do so, or if you’re doing well and just could use a little funding to help with the finances or do something nice for your kids, there may be free government money for you.

One of the best forms of government financial aid for single parents to acquire is grants for single parents to fund childcare services. We all have to work right? Of course we do, the children won’t support themselves. And the exorbitant costs of childcare can be staggering. I myself have in the past chosen not to work for any other reason than to save money on day care costs. Sometimes it hardly seems worth it to work your butt off all week just to hand over more than half of your salary to a baby sitter or day care provider. Then to think that they’ve spent more quality time with your children than you have, and you’re broke, is enough to make you cry.

Imagine having all the money you spend on day care and babysitters in your pocket each week? Grants for single parents may be able to help you do just that. The government may be able to provide you with enough free money to pay your childcare expenses. This keeps you working and off of welfare, which is much more costly to the government than day care services. If you are a single parent, struggling or not, you may qualify to take advantage of grants for single parents to finance day care expenses. Why pay if you don’t have to?

Single parenting is a tough and expensive responsibility. What many don’t know is that there are grants for single parents that can assist you. Not only financially, but also academically and physically as well.

Living in the modern days of the new millennium, the traditional idea of a typical American family is a far cry from what it used to be in the days of the Brady Bunch and Ozzie and Harriet. Mothers have traded aprons for briefcases, stepped out of the kitchen and into the office. We also see many stay at home dads now a days, which only a few decades ago was a concept that was simply unheard of. And what we seem to currently see the most of, and have accepted as new tradition in American families, is the single parent home.

It may seem cliché’, but if you are a parent, single or not, raising children really does take a village. Trying to juggle work schedules with children’s schedules, household chores, stuffy noses, and school assemblies can really be an exhausting load to carry. Particularly so for the single parent who carries twice the burden, financial and physical, upon their shoulders. But they do not have to be alone. The village can help. The village is actually the US Government who can provides a great amount of financial aid and support to those in need by distributing cash award grants for single parents. The assistance programs available to single parents can tremendously benefit the single parented family.

If you are a single parent, there is a considerable amount of government funding that you may be eligible to receive to aid in your costs of raising a family alone. You can receive funding for child care services, college grants to return to school to advance your career, debt grants to pay of credit card balances and personal debts. Believe it or not you can receive a single parents grant to buy school supplies for yourself, your kids, or even just to put a couple extra Christmas presents under the tree for your children. You can apply for and receive as many as you’d like. This is free government money that you’ll never have to pay back ever. It’s tax free, interest free, and yours.

Every single parents who are eligible can receive a considerable amount of free government money. There are few requirements to qualify for various single parent grants other than just being a single parent, which are outlined in the grant application. In some states, for example, if you are under the age of eighteen, but have a biological child you may be considered emancipated. In which case you would may be eligible to receive single parents grants regardless of your age. Check with your local grant awarding agencies for details.

We are seeing more and more women taking on the responsibility of raising children alone. There are numerous grants for single parents that can help these courageous women in pursuing their personal goals while continuing to raise their families.

Whether you have become a single parent due to unfortunate circumstances such as divorce, abandonment or the death of a spouse, or if you’re an independent single business woman who has decided to raise children on her own, there is an abundant amount of grants for single parents available to you. And very few requirements to qualify. You basically have already met the main requirement just by being a single parent.

There are no limits to how many grants for single parents you can obtain, or the amount of free government money you can take advantage of as a single parent. There are a variety of grants for single parents designed for a number of purposes and you can take advantage of each and every one of them. If you’d like to return to college there are government grant programs that will provide single parents with tuition funds and personal grants for school supplies. If you’re interested in starting your own business or expanding one you’ve already established, there are several grants for single parents that will finance that for you.

Particularly if you a woman. Women are considered minorities and qualify for minority grants as well as grants for single mothers. And if you are attending college, working, or both, you can receive a great deal of government financial aid to help absorb the high costs of day care services and after school programs for your children. Some agencies will offer grants for single parents that completely finance quality child care services. There are even grants for single parents to use just to purchase school supplies, uniforms, and sporting equipment for their children.

The government has the money to help all taxpaying American citizens through financial aid and grant programs. They just happen to be considerably generous to those who have children to support, and in particular, the single parent.

Rewarding as it is, being a single parent is a tough job. It’s good to know that the government respects that and is willing to give some of our tax dollars back to provide better and more comfortable lives for our families. If you are a single mom or dad, whether you’re struggling in debt, or comfortable and just want more for your children, grants for single parents can seriously help you enrich the lives of yourself and your children.

For the past several decades we’ve all been aware of the increasing amount of enterprising young women and single mothers. What many aren’t aware of, is the numerous and easily attainable amount of single mother grants that are available to help the courageous women who take on the responsibility of raising children on their own.

It’s a tough job raising children while trying to uphold a household and establish or advance your career, even for a “traditional” dual parent home. The burden of these responsibilities falls double on the shoulders of the single mother. Single mother grants can significantly aid in assisting the single mother in a variety of ways enabling her to pursue her goals and dreams while still providing for her children.

There are numerous types of financial aid, scholarships and government grant programs that are specifically designed for and geared towards single mothers and just women in general. Not to mention the various other types of grants that are available for everyone to apply for. Did you know that women are considered minorities and may be eligible for any and all minority grant programs? You can apply for and receive as many grants as you are eligible for. And as a single mother, that’s dozens!

Women with children of any age can virtually change and enhance their lives and those of their children by taking advantage of all the opportunities that single mother’s grants, scholarships, and government financial aid can offer to them.

Again, you can apply for several at once, and most likely receive them all. Imagine what your future could bring if you applied for single mother grants to pay off your debts, and then a single mother’s scholarship to return to college and continue your education. After that you could apply for a single mother’s business grant, a minority women’s grant, and regular old business grant to start your own business. Some mothers may ask, “How am I going to do all of this? I am a single mom!” Well, how about a single mom’s grant to start your own home based business?

Or a day care grant that will finance your child care expenses while you attend school or build your career or business. You could even acquire enough single mother grants and day care funding to start your own day care center and spend time with your kids while you work.

The opportunities for single mothers are never ending with the help of financial assistance from the government and single mother grant programs. If you are a single mom who would like to expand your horizons without sacrificing the well being of your family, these may be well worth exploring.

Grants for single moms are fantastic, especially if you are one of the many busy single moms who have tried to return to school, but simply didn’t have enough time, money or affordable child care. The burdens of work, commuting, shopping, cleaning and trying to spend quality time with our children, can make it really hard to find the time to research ways to obtain financial assistance from the government, but it’s well worth the effort. For you, and your family.

Many of the American single mothers were once unable to pursue a higher education due to life circumstances would have otherwise become trapped in a cycle of low wages and underemployment had it not been for taking advantage of the various single mothers grants made available by the US government each year.

Although not many take advantage (surprisingly), the government has been providing these resources to single moms everywhere for decades. They are required by law to give away billions of dollars worth of financial aid and single mother’s grants every year. The government does not advertise this free government money, so not many people apply for it. But it’s there, and if you’re a single mother, grant money is a good as yours.

Ladies, there is serious life changing potential here. It will take hard work and determination, as most things in do, but continued success by using free government money for education is not unachievable. Particularly for the single mother.

Believe it or not, you can continue your education and begin to change your life for the better today.

In two basic steps. Now pay close attention and stay with me.

Step One – There are single mom grants for child day care expenses. Acquire one of those and now you’ve got your little ones taken care of at no cost to you and you’ve freed yourself up some time to look into going back to school while still working and caring for your family. You’ve also saved a fortune in day care and after school program expenses. So treat yourself to a new purse or briefcase because you’re one step closer to a new career and you’ll need a bigger purse to carry all that money around once you’ve reached your goals.

Step Two – Select a local college that offers part time courses and apply for single mom college grants and scholarships in the admissions counseling office. They will provide you with all the forms and information you need to obtain free college grants and scholarships specifically designed for single mothers. The will also guide you through the grant writing application process. It won’t be long before you’re putting together your plan to exercise the funds that you surely are to be awarded.

Those basic TWO STEPS can get you well on your way back to college without burying yourself in debt or sacrificing precious time with your children. Now here are some basic facts to help you make it even easier on yourself using more of the single mother’s grant programs that are available…..

*You can apply for as many single mother’s grant programs as are available in your area, and are likely to qualify for all of them!
