If you’ve ever seen the You Might Be Rich program on NBC, then you know that there is billions of dollars in missing money that you might be able to claim. Every year, millions of people are surprised by the fact that there has been money sitting in your state’s bank account, just waiting for you to collect.

There could be thousands of dollars in cash funds that at some point or time were unable to be delivered to you. As a result, the cash was sent to the state to hold for you. Billions of dollars are lost, as most of these assets are never claimed by the real owner. There could be an old paycheck, trust funds, inheritance, or even money that belonged to a deceased relative that you now have the rights to claim.

How to Find Money Owed to You:

Online resources allow you to search state records to see if there is property that is owed to you. By entering just your name and the zip code of the are you currently live in or lived in the past, these search databases can identify:

Bank accounts and safe deposit box contents

Stocks, mutual funds, bonds, and dividends

Uncashed checks and wages

Insurance policies, CD’s, trust funds

Utility deposits, escrow accounts

In addition to the above, the IRS may owe you a tax refund that you don’t even know about. Before you send another penny to the government for taxes, be sure you don’t have a check coming your way. Find out if there’s unclaimed tax dollars that is owed to you from the IRS

As a result of the credit crunch in America, it has become increasingly difficult for consumers and small business owners to get approved for bank loans. That’s having a dramatic toll on the economy, as small business are unable to pay their bills or make payroll. The result is more layoffs and more small businesses closing doors, which means more unemployment, less consumer spending, and other businesses feeling the effect. It’s a vicious circle.

But business are not the only ones having a hard time getting approved for loans. Consumers are having a hard time getting approved for mortgages, auto loans, personal loans and credit. That’s resulting in even less spending simply because people with even good credit cannot get the money they need like they used to.

Eventually things will ease and consumers will be able to get approved for bank loans, but in the meantime people should take this as an opportunity. An opportunity to get personal finances back on track, increase credit scores and credit worthiness, and remember what it was like to save money and pay in cash.

Just like those who weathered the Great Depression, a very valuable lesson is to be learned here. Don’t spend more than you make, and don’t over-extend yourself with credit. If you can’t afford it, then you shouldn’t be able to buy it. After the Great Depression, there was a resurgence of saving money, living within your means, and a value in understanding one’s personal finances. While the lack of availability of money from lenders has an incredibly dramatic effect on the economy, there is some good that comes out of this.

That’s not to say that nobody is getting approved for loans. There will always be private lenders who are looking to put their money in other places than the stock market and can work out a deal with you. Despite the tightening of the belts at the major banks, they are still lending money. It just requires a better than average credit score and a sound personal balance sheet. If you can walk into a bank with both of those, you can get approved for a loan at pretty attractive rates. Until then, consumers may need to be a little creative and resourceful in coming up with the cash they need.

The idea that individuals with bad credit or no credit can’t get a loan is a myth. There are resources online that can quickly provide the money you need regardless of credit history. It doesn’t matter if you need cash to buy a new car, buy a home or a personal loan to help you pay the bills. There are online lenders that can provide instant approval and deliver the money you need directly to your bank account.

If you need a cash loan, but are worried about getting approved because of your credit, there are two things that can be done to provide a quick solution. The first is to check your credit yourself and the second is to apply for a no-credit-check loan online. Here’s why…

Step 1: Check Your Credit

The number of mistakes that exist on credit reports is costing a millions of people. Because 2 out of 3 credit reports contain inaccurate information, individuals are finding that their score is lower than they really deserve. Things like delinquencies on accounts that were always on time, credit cards marked as late that were never opened, and wrong Social Security Numbers listed on the wrong person’s credit report. By catching these mistakes and notifying the credit reporting company, those errors by law must be removed from your credit file. As a result, some individuals can see as much as a 100 points increase in their credit score, allowing them to easily get approved for the loan they need.

Step 2: Apply for a No-Credit-Check Loan

If you don’t have time to fix your credit and wait for your score to increase, then you can apply for a personal loan online that guarantees approval, regardless of credit. When you need cash fast, these lenders can provide the money you need within 24 hours. It’s as simple as filling out an application to see just how much money you can obtain.

While many lenders have made it difficult for individuals with bad credit to apply for an auto or personal loan, this two-step process has proven to work time and time again. Get started right away by using the links above to see how fast you can get the money you need.

When cash is needed, it can often be easier to find ways to save money than to go out and make more money. Particularly when the job market is bad and thousands of college students are scrambling to take any job available, making extra money may not be the easy route. Those who take a moment to truly understand their finances and look where their money is going may be surprised to see just how much they can save every single day.

While $50 may not seem like a whole lot of money, that’s roughly $1,500 a month. That’s a mortgage payment and a month’s worth of groceries for a lot of families. A little bit of savings can quickly add up for you.

By being looking at your expenses and knowing where your cash is going, you can be a smart consumer and find ways to pay less. This does not mean you have to be cheap or cut back on your expenses. By being resourceful and thoughtful about your spending, it is possible to buy the same for less.

The Kiplinger Smart Savings guide breaks down how you can cut your expenses in some of the core areas of your life. This includes areas such as:

Food and Shopping

Utilities

Insurance and Medical Bills

Gas and Auto Maintenance

Entertainment Expenses

By being aware of how cash flow (how much is coming in and where money is being spent), many people can quite easily save $50 or more every single day. The best way to get started with this is to print the past three months of your bank and credit card statements. Take a look at where your money is going, and highlight the areas where you could have either done without making the purchase or found a cheaper alternative. You might be pleasantly surprised at just how much of your money you can keep for yourself by being a more responsible consumer.

When times are tough, many families are faced with having to make tough decisions when it comes to paying their bills. The choice can often be putting gas in the car to get to work or making the mortgage payment. While falling behind in your bills is not a good thing, it can be the wiser decision when faced with having to make this tough choice. It can be a matter of survival and having a good score is not going to help when you have no income.

The scenario is unfortunately common: people have lost their jobs or are suffering as a result of the recession. They’ve exhausted their options, have done everything possible to get a higher paying job in an incredibly competitive job market, and they’re not sure what to do next. The question may be, should you tap into your retirement accounts to pay the bills, or is it better to get behind in payments and ruin your credit.

According to Jack Guttentag, there is no right answer, but often times it’s a matter of missing your payments this money and facing the inevitable, or missing your payments next month. The question may also be a moral dilemma since, as a borrower, you are obligated to make the payments. But if you can miss your payments this month and keep your money to help you get out of a rut, that may be the better long-term strategy.

Of course there are implications to doing this, since it can hurt your credit score if your lender decides to report your late payments to the credit bureaus. However, by delaying your payments you could be buying yourself time to find a higher paying job.

Another alternative for those who are facing financial hardship and don’t have enough money to make their payments, is to see if you qualify for a loan modification. This is the process of re-negotiating your existing mortgage with your bank in order to make your payments more manageable. If accepted, it is important to consider the tax implications that can come with a home loan mortgage modification, and is something you should discuss with a certified financial advisor.

According to Money.com, not only is personal credit card use on the rise, but Trans Union, one of 3 major credit reporting bureaus, reported that delinquencies are up 11% from last year. In other words, people are not paying their bills and the credit card companies are feeling the brunt of it. This is all likely a result of the economic pressures people are feeling from job loss, the housing decline, and recession woes as a whole.

Families are faced with making touch decisions, and the credit card payment is usually the last bill to be paid. More and more people are finding that they have to stretch their dollar in order to make ends meet and at the end of the month there just isn’t enough money left.

Interestingly, the states that are suffering from the highest delinquencies are Nevada, Florida and Arizona. These just happen to be the areas that saw the largest increase in housing prices during the real estate boom and consequently are suffering from being hit the hardest during the mortgage crisis.

Unfortunately thes worst is not over just quite yet. TransUnion stated that they expect things to get worse in the next quarter of the year. Of course that will all depend on if unemployment takes a turn for the better and how these new credit card regulations and laws will affect consumers.

All and all, there is a growing concern that consumers need to be better educated about the use of credit and the ramifications for not being able to afford what they charge. There has been a long standing acceptance of using plastic as an alternative or supplement to income and a “I’ll pay for it later,” mentality. This belief system is starting to catch up with consumers, but unfortunately the pain does not end with the individual who can’t pay their bills.

In the end, the consumer gets a bad mark on their credit score, renegotiates the debt or files for personal bankruptcy. All of which provides a way out for the individuals but always leaves the credit companies left with the debt. It’s a risky business that seems as if it is not turning out not to be so profitable anymore, and stricter regulations may solve those issues for both parties.

In these times of financial crisis in America, we hear more and more each day about the lack of government financial aid that is available to American citizens. This couldn’t be further from the truth. There is an exorbitant amount of funds made available to the general public for a variety of reasons. The problem is no one is applying for it.

It may seem ridiculous looking at the situation from the surface. I’m sure the common reaction to that statement is “Well if there’s so much government financial aid, why wouldn’t anyone in this desperate economy apply for it?” But the answer is simple. They don’t know about it.

It’s generally assumed that government financial aid is welfare, food stamps and medicaid for low income citizens who fall below the poverty line. It’s been a long standing fact that the US welfare system is in need of improvement, so many believe that there isn’t enough funding available to assist other groups and individuals in their times of financial crisis. This is only half right. The federal welfare system may be overloaded with clients and low on funding, but that is only one of the hundreds of forms of government financial aid available to US taxpayers. And unfortunately, the only well publicized one as well.

The US government does not advertise the virtual hundreds of grant programs and financial aid assistance, that they are required by law to distribute each year. Billions of dollars in free grant money is there for every American citizen over the age of eighteen. Regardless of race, heritage, sex, religion, income level, or reason, if you are a taxpaying American citizen, you are entitled to some form of government financial aid.

This is not welfare, nor a loan. It’s almost an insurance policy that you’ve already paid for in taxes. To insure that the financial help you need is there in times of crisis. If anything, it prevents American citizens to be forced to go on welfare, and fall deeper into poverty.

There are hundreds of government financial aid programs that can found online if you search thoroughly enough, and you can get help writing your grant proposals for financial assistance from obtaining online grant kits. These grant kits are rapidly becoming a popular tool for those seeking the various forms of government financial assistance listed below;

Debt Grants – to pay off credit cards and personal debt

Energy Assistance – to aid in paying your utility bills

Business Grants – to start or improve your own small business

Home Improvement Grants – to enhance urban development or repair damages to your home

Single Mother’s Grants – for a plethora of reasons including child care, college scholarships, clothing expenses, school supplies, etc

Student Direct Loans – for college student in need of personal financial assistance

Personal Grants – buy a car, pay your creditors, catch up on back rent, etc

There are many more forms of government financial aid than I could ever even list in one article, but I hope I’ve gotten the point across. All Americans need to be made aware of the billions of dollars in government financial aid that is available in times of need and stop thinking that “welfare” is all we have.

The government and other organizations provide low-income grants to help you and your family during times of financial hardship. You must qualify to receive these funds, but you can find out quickly by submitting an free grant application.

There are virtually billions of dollars in free government money that you can use to recover from the financial trauma that so many of us have experienced during the recent years of the Bush administration. Although it is free government money, it is not welfare, nor a “hand out”. This free government money is set aside each year by the government for the specific purpose of providing financial aid to TAXPAYERS who have faced some form of hardship. We have PAID FOR IT in taxes, and are entitled to receive it in times of need.

This type of financial aid is awarded to low income individuals and families in the form of low-income grants. These grants are not subject to repayment. Again, this is not welfare, nor is it a loan. It is free government money to help you with numerous amounts of financial responsibilities and debts while you recover from the aftermath of good old George W. There is no shame in looking to the government for low income grants to get back on your feet. They (ahem, George W.) had no shame in destroying our economy and squandering our tax money. They owe it to you!

By Law, the government is obligated to give us this money. What better time to take it!

Now more than ever, thousands of American citizens are applying for low-income grants and various forms of financial aid. With all the corporation shut downs, lay offs, lost pensions and retirement funds that we have lost, why wouldn’t you? If you have been a victim of poor national budgeting (who hasn’t?), how can you not? The situation in the White House helped get you into this situation, let it help you out of it!

I urge all Americans who have fallen upon hard times due to the current government conditions to apply diligently for all the low-income grants they can find! Get your hands on as much free government money and financial aid as you possibly can! Do it now! The government owes it to yo. Pay off your credit card debts with it, save your home from foreclosure with it; pay your bills, college tuition, mortgage or rent, or any other things you’ve fallen financially behind on. Get your share, pay your debt, have peace of mind.

Of the billions of grant programs available by the government and private organizations, low income grants rank as some of the most popular grants that Americans seek. These programs often provide free money that doesn’t have to be paid back to individuals and families facing financial hardship. Most of these grants are provided to:

Help Pay Off Debt

Provide Money to Pay Rent or Federal Housing

Offer Assistance to College Students for School

Typically there is no credit needed, no collateral, and no co-signers. Because grants are not loans, they typically do not require the same application process that you would find when applying for a personal loan.

Those who are having trouble keeping up with their bills should not overlook the potential to receive federal grant money. As long as you are at least 18 years old and an American citizen, you can apply to receive low income grants. The government may be able to provide you with low income homeowner, renter and college student financial support.

If you look beyond low income grants provided by the government, you can find a number of non-profit organizations that also offer financial assistance with low income grants. These offer support for a wider range of needs, such as food, assistance of medical bills, and other debt problems you may be facing as a result of a lack of income.
